Classically trained musician, turned tech worker, turned musician again - John Kutay wears many hats and it comes through in his music. His debut solo EP, 'Trace' was self-produced in his San Francisco apartment yet carries the weight of a seasoned production - quickly gaining 10,000 digital plays in the first month of its release.

Despite his years as an engineer in the tech industry, John Kutay is no stranger to music. He got his chops as a pianist and composer from his years at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

John has performed in various indie bands in the San Francisco Bay Area and also worked professionally as a studio keyboardist (In Ya Face Records). John’s music is powered by his sweeping, soulful voice, pop-infused songwriting that emphasizes hooks, dynamics, and funky live instrumentals. He draws his sound from some of his favorite artists and producers including Stevie Wonder, D'Angelo, Calvin Harris, Tom Misch, SG Lewis and many other artists across multiple genres that include R&B, electronic, jazz and soul.
